How We Use Technology for Dental Care

With advancements in dental technology, we can provide you with a more comfortable, precise method of diagnosing and treating your oral health issues.

Diagnostic imaging allows us to detect any issues that may be present in the teeth, gums, and oral structures. Since we can display digital X-rays and scans on the monitors in our treatment rooms, we can show you any issues in your mouth and walk you through your treatment plan.

Dental technology not only helps us care for our patients, but also allows us to further educate them on their oral health. Our dentists can communicate oral health information to their patients, empowering them to make informed decisions about their dental care and providing patient comfort during various dental procedures.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-ray is a type of X-ray imaging thats uses electronic sensors instead of traditional photographic film to capture images of the internal structure of the mouth. The sensors can convert the image into a digital form, allowing dentists to view the parts of the mouth interpret the results in real time.

Panoramic X-Rays

If you are in need of dentures, braces extractions or implants, we will often use a panoramic X-ray to help us plan your treatment. Panoramic X-rays allow your dentist to create an image of your entire mouth. This image is a representation of the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), nasal and sinus structures.

Intraoral Scanners

Rather than creating physical dental impressions, which can often be messy, our dentists opt to use an intraoral scanners to create a digital dental impression. This procedure is usually quick and simple, simply requiring your dentist to use an optical scanning wand which produces the digital dental impression within a few minutes.

VELscope

A VELscope is a hand-held, wireless oral screening device that helps our dentists identify abnormalities and diseases in the mouth, including cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. Using fluorescence visualisation technology, it helps your dentist see issues that may be hard to detect or invisible to the unassisted eye.

Cone Beam Cat Scan

If you are struggling with snoring, sleep apnea or other complex issues relating to your dental health, we can use a cone beam cat scan to more accurately diagnose and plan the treatment of you. Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) can generate 3D images of dental structures, soft tissues and bones in the craniofacial region.
